Where can I park?

We are so fortunate to be located in the Chehalis Town Center where there is a lot of parking space.  Parking is FREE.

What is there to do at the museum?

We offer many exhibits for your kids to experience.  Tot Town is a place for kids to toddle and play for ages birth-three.  At the museum children can build and create their own structures.  They can unearth dinosaurs.  There are art exhibits, music activities, and much MUCH more! View Exhibits

What's going on today?

Everyday your kids can play with the exhibits.  However, we plan on having lots of new activities each day, as well as special events.  Please check out our special events page for what we have scheduled!

What's the appropriate age range?

During our pilot project, we are targeting children between birth and ten years old.  However, all ages are welcome.  We want families to learn by playing together.  Basically, you can be two, fifteen, thirty, sixty-two, or even more than one hundred years old and we wouldn't turn you away. We want the whole community to come in with their children and learn by playing together!

Can I leave my child?

All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  Any child without an accompanied adult, will be escorted to the information desk, and will remain there until a parent or caretaker is located.  The child will not be allowed to leave Discover! until a parent or caretaker arrives.  If a parent or caretaker cannot be located, Discover! will contact authorities for help.

What should we wear?

Since we do have some exhibits where your child may get paint or other kid friendly play stuff on them, it would be best to wear something comfortable and can be cleaned easily!  The kids will be up and down a lot, so make sure they wear comfortable shoes too!

Can we bring in food?

We do not have a large cafeteria area, but will offer  a small snack area.  We ask that visitors don't leave their items on the table for storage during the duration of their stay.  We have plans to offer snack items as well.  Keep in mind, we do have lots of neighbors in the surrounding area that can serve you fully for lunch and dinner!

Is there stroller parking?

We will have a small area where you can park your stroller.  However, we ask that you keep any valuables with you.

Can I book a group or party?

If you would like to book a group visit or a party, email us at info@discovermuseum.org. Group rates of 15 or more are $3 per person.  If there are 20 or more children, two adults get free admission!

We have two party options available at this time. All party packs include the following:

  • Exclusive use of the Discover! Party room for 90 minutes
  • Admission for supervising adults (1:5 ratio required)

Party Room only. At the end of the party it will be required to be disposed of in the garbage containers, by members who scheduled the party.  After you book, we will also give you more information, along with your packet.)

Is it handicap accessible?

Yes all areas are handicap accessible.

Are there special needs tours?

If you would like to schedule a slot for a special needs group day, we ask that you email us at info@discovermuseum.org.  Group rates of 15 or more are $3 per person.  If there are 20 or more children, two adults get free admission!

What if my child is sick?

Our staff carefully monitors the Museum's facilities around the clock.  We work hard to ensure children enjoy a clean and safe place to play.  In return we ask that parents screen their children's health.  Parents of potentially sick children will be addressed in a respectful manner.  In addition, school and organized groups are required to screen the children in the same way.

Can we book a Field Trip?

We are designed to be a partner to the teachers of our community.  Teachers can use our facility and exhibits to enhance their school curriculum.  Contact us if you would like to book a field trip, group rates are available.

How can I volunteer?

There are many ways to help us out at the museum.  We need people for looking after the exhibits, as well as helping at the counter. We believe volunteers are vital in supporting us.  While having direct contact with children and families, our volunteers have the unique opportunity to help members in our community learn and grow.  If you are interested in helping us out, there are a couple of forms that will need to be filled out.  Please click here for the forms.  They will need to be printed and mailed to Discover! Children's Museum PO Box 147 Chehalis, WA 98532, or dropped off at our museum.  We look forward to having a partnership with you.

How can I donate?

We appreciate any and all donations as we continue to build our program.  You can donate online through PayPal, or send us a check.  Thank you for your support!
